A: To become involved with FREED you simply have to complete a membership form and pay the subscription fee. The subscription fee currently stands at only £5.00 and this will add your name to the mailing list so that you can be kept informed of the groups activities. However, if you wish not to be sent information you can simply opt out by ticking the ‘opt out’ box when you apply. Presently, the form is available by:

  1. Downloading it by clicking here where you can print it out and once completed you can send it to the address on the form. The form will open out in a new page in PDF format. 2. Writing to the secretary with your name and address who will send you the application form for you to complete and return. Click here to find the address of the secretary.

Q: Can I donate goods to FREED (UK)?
A: Any goods that appear on our list (see donations list) for the current year can be donated and will gratefully be received by the group. As we are a small group we also ask that you follow the instructions for packing and delivery as we do not have the resources to complete this ourselves with all the generous donations that we receive.

Q: How can I make a monetary donation?
A: We accept donations in many ways and these are listed below. If you are a taxpayer, please do not forget to complete the gift aid form. (Click here to download gift aid form) We can earn additional income from H M Revenue and Customs if you do this.

  1. One-off donations can be sent to the secretary as cheques or postal orders and should be made payable to FREED UK.
  2. Regular direct debits can be set up with your bank or building society by completing our form (Standing Order Form) which is downloadable as a PDF file.
  3. Cash donations should be delivered by hand to the secretary who can be contacted to arrange a meeting by clicking on this link. (secretary)

Q: What would be required of me if I wanted to travel to Ghana with FREED (UK)?
A: You would be required to self fund or seek sponsorship to travel as each trip will cost approximately £1,000 per person. You would need to have specific skills to meet the requirements of our current projects but these skills would not necessarily need to be professional. You would be required to attend meetings as often as possible throughout the year and finally you would be expected to fundraise for the charity.

Q:What plans do FREED (UK) have for the future?
A: Our work is on-going but as one project is completed a new one will begin. We are working in three areas at the moment: hospital, school and orphanage. More can be found out by looking at the pages in our website that are dedicated to these projects. You can also check with our Calendar page to see what our members have planned for the near future.
